Etiquette

(Things you should have learned in kindergarten)

In order to help those that are new to the scene, or have never been to a public play party, here are some Rules of Etiquette to keep in mind:

  1. Always ask before you touch. Not only does this mean a person, but possessions as well. Never use a tool, instrument, or toy without asking the owner first.
  2. Refrain from loud talking during a scene. If you wish to carry on a conversation, please exit the play area or talk in whispers. Disruptions during a scene are very much frowned upon.
  3. Never interrupt or interfere with a scene. If you are concerned or if you believe that one of the participants is in danger, notify the host or a designated Event Monitor (DM) immediately. If you just don’t like the scene, walk away.
  4. If you have a question about a particular scene, please ask either a DM or, the participants after the scene is over.
  5. If you have to move a piece of furniture, ASK a DM first. Equipment is set the way it is to maximize the space and safety. When you are done using and cleaning the equipment/furniture to accommodate your scene, please put it back in its original position for the next person.
  6. Be cognizant of the time that you’ve been using a play station. Others wish to play as well.
  7. Wipe off any equipment used with bio-cleaner after your scene. Pick up any trash hat you might have accumulated.
  8. Remember to be gracious and courteous with everyone that you meet. Common respect for each other is always encouraged.
  9. Never leave with more than you came with (unless you bought something from one of the vendors). 😊
  10. Be conscious of the time when the party will be ending. We have to be out by 1:00 a.m. – this means scenes must be over by 12:30 a.m. so we have time to put everything away. Be a really good guest and stick around to help us put it all away.
